Watch video onlyOne candidate answers key questions in this video.
[1s] Who are you and why are standing?
[27s] Hi, I'm Geoff Barge, your local Labour Party candidate for a hedge-end north in the Eastley Borough Council election on 2nd May.
[35s] I've lived in a Hedge-End for 16 years and am passionate about our wonderful community.
[39s] And I am standing because I feel it is very important to have a more democratic council rather than one dominated by the Liberal Democrats.
[61s] How would you make a difference locally?
[66s] Eastley Borough Council has a huge amount of debt and we need councillors who will challenge the council's spending plans.
[72s] We also face the threat of major cuts to services through cuts proposed by Hampshire County Council and Eastly needs councillors that will work hard to
[80s] mitigate the impact of these cuts which include the possible closure of the head-owned household waste recycling centre and removal of several school crossing patrols.
[91s] One last call, anything you'd like to say?
[96s] So despite what other political parties might tell you, Labour can win council seats in the upcoming Borough Council elections.
[105s] In fact, well-respected pollsters, electoral calculus, are actually predicting several Labour wins.
[113s] I believe it is time for real change in hedge-end and I think that there is an appetite from the electorate to make that happen.
[119s] Thank you.
