YOUR HEADLINE ACT IS NONE OTHER THAN SHAPPI KHORSANDI
Shappi established herself as one of the country’s finest comedians in 2006 with her sell out Edinburgh show, Asylum Speaker.
This show lead to the publication of her childhood memoirs, “A Beginner’s Guide To Acting English“, her best selling literary debut.
In typical Shappi style, this show told the story of how her family were forced to flee Iran and gain asylum in the UK.
Her father’s popularity as a satirist attacking the regime has ensured they cannot return to Iran.
As Shappi says, “obviously there’s free speech in Iran, but little freedom after you’ve spoken.”
Shappi’s career has taken her to all corners of the globe, she has appeared on countless TV & Radio shows including; Mock The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, QI, Just a Minute & other flagship radio 4 programmes.
She is proud of being a “spit & sawdust” standup & one of her favourite things is pulling on her wellies, trudging through muddy fields, and performing at every music festival which has a comedy tent – from Glastonbury to Secret Garden Party.
She has received an honorary doctorate from Winchester University for her contribution to the arts and recently received the prestigious James Joyce award from Dublin University.
She is also currently hoping to receive an apology from Ealing Council for consistently failing to remove her bins on time.
Shappi has taken part in the iconic television & live show for Amnesty Internation, The Secret Policeman’s Ball, as well as several series of Live At The Apollo & Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.
Her screenwriting debut was in the form of Sky’s Little Crackers & she has recently been commissioned to write a drama script for BBC Television.
She has yet to learn to drive.
Ignacio Lopez will be making a return trip to Romsey, of this we are completely sure.
Ignacio Lopez has been wowing audiences internationally with his individual style and high gag-rate since 2010. A frequent headliner and MC in top comedy clubs all over the UK, Ignacio also performs regularly at corporate functions, private shows, military gigs, sports dinners, art centres and festivals.
In 2015 Ignacio sold out solo festival performances in Edinburgh, Brighton, Reading, Cardiff and Neath.
In 2016 Ignacio produced and hosted a comedy series for Made Television called ‘Comedy Sheep Stand-Up’, which was the first show to be broadcast across the UK network in a primetime weekend slot.
In 2017 Ignacio is touring his new show ‘EspañYOLO’ in theatres around the UK.

Chris Purchase Green

Sean Collins
Canadian Sean Collins has 25 years experience in stand up comedy, with initial success leading to ‘Best Male Stand Up’ nominations at the Canadian Comedy Awards, a Just For Laughs Gala set at Montreal and his own hour long special on Canadian television.
Since residing in the UK, Sean quickly established himself as a strong performer. His appearance on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow on BBC 1 proved a portentous gig for Sean, affording him the opportunity to perform at The Real Variety Showcase for Jeremy Lee Associates, the UK’s biggest specialist agency for after dinner speakers, awards hosts and cabaret for corporate, industry and public sector events. For his performance that night he was awarded the ‘Expert Choice’ as he ‘struck the most corporate note of the evening’ -(The Stage 2013). Jeremy Lee Associates considered him the ‘stand out act’.
