After the Franco Prussian War, artists such as Monet, Whistler, Tissot and Pissarro fled the barricaded city of Paris and went to London hoping to sell their stunning images of the city. Often disappointed, they missed France, and many returned as soon as possible but not without creating some of the most memorable and beautiful records of an atmospheric city.
