Join me for a guided walking tour.
Last year saw the commemoration of Operation Overlord and the D-Day landings, but how many people know of the integral role that Eastleigh played to ensure the success of the operation? Join our Guide, Mary, on this walk to discover some of the secret work that was carried out in the town, and what Granny did in the war!
Road walking, with two gentle hills. We will be finishing in the Recreation Ground, next to The Point. Most local roads' parking restrictions do not apply on Sundays, but do check the notices beforehand. This is a 2hr walk.
N.B. There is little shade on this route, so if sunny please be appropriately prepared, hat, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and water.
• Meet at 1.45pm by the side of the Coffee Cabin, Bishopstoke Road, Eastleigh SO50 6AD The walk starts at 2pm.
• Bring appropriate clothing, water and footwear
• Tickets MUST be booked in advance as places are limited
• Minimum number for walk to commence is 4
• Walk lasts approximately 90-120 minutes
