The University of Southampton Gift of Sight Appeal is proud to announce its upcoming lecture, "Beating Blindness," on Wednesday 14th May 2025 at the Concorde Club in Eastleigh. This hybrid event will be held both in-person and online, offering a great opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest sight-saving research taking place in Southampton.

Meet our Vision Scientists: Engage with researchers from the University of Southampton and learn about their ground-breaking research projects. In-person guests will also have the opportunity to chat with current vision science students and see examples of their work.
Informative Talks: Hosted by Dr Jay Self, talks will include the latest news on age-related macular degeneration (AMD) from Professor Andrew Lotery; a fascinating insight into retinal stem cell biology by Dr Jörn Lakowski; and advances in sight-saving treatments for children by Dr Ellie Keeling.
Interactive Q&A: Dr Helena Lee will moderate a session with questions from guests at the event and online.
