Transcript preview: Who are you and why are standing in this election? Hi, I'm Rich House. I am the Green Party candidate here in Hiltonbury. I grew up here, I …
[22s] Who are you and why are standing in this election?
[25s] Hi, I'm Rich House.
[26s] I am the Green Party candidate here in Hiltonbury.
[30s] I grew up here, I went to Hiltonbury Infant School and Junior School, and then Thornton, And I've since returned to live here and now work here.
[40s] I'm standing because I care about green issues, about our environment and our quality of life.
[48s] Please vote for me if you care for these.
[50s] Every vote will shift the agenda for all parties in that direction.
[56s] Hello, i'm Albert Slawson.
[58s] but for more years than I care to admit to, I've been known as Albie.
[61s] I'm your prospective Conservative candidate for Hiltonbury.
[66s] Hopefully, together, we can make Hiltonburry a really great place to live.
[71s] We already have a parish council, but do you actually know what they do?
[76s] Do you see any of their agendas?
[80s] I intend to ensure that you're kept more abreast of what's going on and what is happening in your name.
[90s] We're sorry, the number you have dialled is not in service at this time.
[94s] Do you think we need more public electrical charging points in locally?
[99s] I'd like to see lots more electric vehicle charge points, in Hiltonbury, here at the hilt, Kingsway shops, Ashdown road shops.
[108s] All sorts of public places where people park.
[111s] Also in roads where, people don't have driveways such as flats and closes with blocked parking.
[119s] I'd like to see community charge points there shared by those in the street offering electricity at affordable rates.
[126s] We've all got to get onto electric vehicles soon, so let's get on with it.
[130s] As time progresses, there will always be the need for more electric chargepoints.
[135s] we're fortunate that a lot of electric car owners at the moment have driveways on which they can charge their cars, but that won't always the case.
[144s] At the hilt there's an ideal opportunity to put these charge points in.
[148s] I've already spoken with a company that provides this service and they're more than happy to come along with us in order to identify these points and get
[157s] them installed.
[158s] Could Hiltonbury recreation ground be improved for children?
[162s] For example by restricting some areas to dogs on lead only.
[168s] Would like to improve Hiltonburi rec for Children and also for people of all ages.
[173s] I'd set up a Friends of Hiltonbury rec group and facilitate that to drive improvements and ideas.
[179s] I would like to see a part of the park sealed off for dogs to run in a fenced gated area and thereby allowing us to say these dogs should only be on these elsewhere.
[193s] Better exercise facilities, tennis wall, table tennis, a cafe.
[199s] As you are well aware, Hiltonbury Recreation Ground is a large open space situated in the middle of Hiltonburi.
[206s] It's ideal for adults and youngsters.
[209s] it has the children's playground, it the sports ground, and it also has a hilt.
[215s] In this large space provides plenty of amenities for people to exercise their pets, but dog owners should be aware of the fact that not everyone is comfortable
[225s] in their presence of animals.
[227s] How are you going to help make Hiltonbury a better place to live?
[233s] I'd like to improve the important things in life in Hiltonburi.
[236s] Our health, the environment we live in, and our society.
[241s] I would like more exercise machines in the parks, improved bus routes, more wildflowers for the birds and the bees, cycle paths to keep our children safe
[253s] going school, and community groups to look after places like parks to foster a sense of community.
[262s] Hiltonbury is already a great place to live, but it could be made a lot better.
[266s] One of the things that would certainly help was the reinstatement of PCSOs to help combat antisocial behaviour, particularly around Hiltonberry Lakes,
[275s] which I understand has become quite a problem.
[278s] Also, it would be beneficial to keep the footpaths and roads clear throughout the year, not just relying on nature to do it during the summer months.
[289s] One last call.
[290s] Anything you'd like to say?
[292s] Please vote for me, Rich House, the Green Party candidate, on May the 4th.
[298s] Every vote from me is a vote of a better environment, reducing climate change, looking after our wildlife, providing safe,
[310s] sustainable routes for our children to walk and cycle to school, cleaner air, healthier lifestyles.
[318s] Every single vote counts.
[321s] To be your Conservative Councillor, I can only be effective with your help and support.
[327s] One of my suggestions is to copy what large companies do and have suggestion boxes located at various locations, like the craft shop,
[335s] Anderson's, the hilt, even at the Hiltonbury Farmhouse pub whereby you can put forward your suggestions that I can pick up and then follow up on and try
[348s] to get an idea of what is important to you.
