[0s] you Who are you and why are standing?

[32s] I'm Phil Horton and I am standing for the Green Party in the Hamble and Netley Borough Council election.

[39s] I trained as an engineer originally and worked for BBC for several years before moving into sustainability and for past five years I've been working for

[47s] RYA here in Hambl.

[49s] In my spare time I enjoy sailing and also do the lighting for Hambel players including for annual pantomime I travel up and down to Derbyshire regularly

[59s] to see my children and my granddaughter.

[70s] How would you make a difference locally?

[74s] Locally I take a keen interest in the Hamble airfield development which I oppose on both environmental and on health grounds.

[81s] I'm keen to see travel improvements to support pedestrians and cyclists throughout Hambla and Netley and also through to Southampton and I am also keen

[90s] work with individuals and businesses to help to address the problems of congestion on Hambel Lane.

[97s] One last call, anything you'd like to say?

[101s] I know increasing numbers of people across all age groups and political persuasions are concerned about climate change, sewage pollution,

[108s] the NHS, local planning issues and the general state of political discussions.

[113s] I work in policy development at the Green Party, so I now how difficult it can be to balance all those different conflicting demands,

[121s] but I also know how affordable changes can made to improve our public services.

[127s] Having a different party and a difficult different view in the room will provide better quality discussions and better decision making in The Borough.

[134s] Thank you for listening and please do go out and vote on 2nd May.
