[7s] Who are you and why are standing?

[12s] My name is Alex Cully.

[13s] I'm standing for Reform UK in East and North, professionally working with legal, regulatory and governance matters.

[21s] And I am hoping to stand to actually offer a different perspective.

[29s] For memory, the Lib Dems control something like 35 of the 39 council seats.

[34s] There are a few different perspectives on there than there aren't.

[42s] through constructive criticism.

[52s] Where new homes should go, for me it's clear, Brownfield should be a priority.

[57s] There are quite a few of those already where I live, around the Baker's Crescent sort of area, Granary Lane, by the railway tracks.

[66s] It's one thing allowing the houses to go up, but we need to make sure that the schools not going to get overcrowded, transport links are not gonna be too congested.

[75s] We are lucky to have some areas with countryside, particularly around Alport in that sort area.

[81s] So I would be reticent to expand onto that if at all possible.

[95s] I think what we've tried to do is to identify potential waste and where there were waste or schemes which are not delivering value and to try and keep

[105s] the council taxes low because the cost is not easy for everyone at the moment.

[111s] And anything that would help in this regard I'm sure would be appreciated by the vast majority of people.

[116s] One last call.

[117s] Anything you'd like to say?

[120s] Okay, so I think easily a bit of a change.

[122s] I that we need, like I said, some new perspectives on a constructive person in my views.

[131s] But I would be, you know, I wouldn't challenge Council to actualise particularly and planning decisions as well.

[140s] The Council, in a way, would quite active in scrutinising those.

[145s] And I just think that we need some fresh voices on the Council and to mix it up a bit.

[151s] So if that's something which is for you, to go and hopefully we will emerge from it as a stronger local area.
